President Omar Cortez
Bro. Omar Cortez was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan till the age of twelve. Then he and his family moved to Houston, Texas. It was here, at the age of sixteen, the Lord began to deal with and call him. He soon realized he would spend his life preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
At the age of twenty one, he moved to Escondido, California where he continued to work for God faithfully in this local church. He served there as the local youth president and later, as the Southern California District President.
He was set aside in 1997 and in 2002, he was ordained as a minister. That same year, he was privileged to serve as a coordinator for Higher Service for Men for the National Messengers of Peace. The following term, Omar served as a National Music Coordinator.
These last few years, he as served as a Co-Pastor at a thriving in Escondido, California with Senior Pastor Philimon Anaya. He served two consecutive terms as Secretary for the National Messengers of Peace. Now, he is serving as President for National Messengers of Peace.
His life's philosophy has been to be faithful in the little that God has given and God will provide an avenue to be a stewart of greater things. It is through serving, that God has allowed him to work in different areas of ministry.
Omar's family has been a strong part of his ministry. He is married to Damaris Cortez and they share three wonderful children (Hannah, Simeon, and Faith). They have been a big part of his ministry.
Secretary Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez is an ordained minister and serves as English Pastor at East Palo Alto Apostolic Church. Jacob received the call to preach at very young age, under the mentorship of his father Bishop Joseph V. Rodriguez. Jacob preached his first sermon at the age of 16 and has been preaching and ministering ever since. In 2002, Jacob became one of the youngest Apostolic authors when he wrote and published his first book "The Woman's Touch". Since then, he has authored five books and numerous bible studies.
Jacob has served in youth ministry at various levels since 1997, including local youth president, youth pastor and counselor. Jacob also attended Christian Life College (Stockton, CA) in 1999 where he developed a deeper knowledge of the Word of God and a passion for prayer. In 2002, after marrying his wife Cherie, Jacob's ministry began to blossom as he began to preach youth revivals, youth camps, women's conferences and preaching conferences stretching from California to Texas.
From 2010-2012, he served as the Messengers of Peace Leadership Coordinator. In 2012 (Anaheim, CA) Jacob was elected National Secretary of the Messengers of Peace. Jacob Rodriguez has a passion for God, for the church, and for reaching his community. He has a burden to reach young people and help them discover their God-given purpose.
Jacob, his wife Cherie and son Makai live in East Palo Alto, CA (Bay Area). They enjoy spending time as a family and leading their weekly Life Group.
